External Water Leak Detectors Cobham
For this property in Cobham, we attended the site to investigate a leak.
On visual inspection on arrival, we could see water leaking from the lower section of the driveway and onto the road.
We proceeded to test the flow coming through the metre, the water metre shows that its continuously ticking over and when the internal stop tap is isolated the water metre continues to tick over indicating that theres a leak on the incoming water supply. The water metre reading taken was 00381 511.
We then inserted tracer gas into the pipe work from the garden tap on the side of the house, we found 0.15 percent volume of tracer gas detected releasing from the ground above the concrete.
Once we figured out where the leak was, we accessed and repaired the leak. We broke away the concrete and excavated the soil to a minimum depth of 750mm. The leak was located on a 15mm copper pipe. We repaired the pipe using one 15mm compression coupling and one 15mm slip coupling.
After the repair was made the water mains were pressure tested at 3.9 bar over a 20-minute period, the water mains held pressure which indicated there was no further leak. Temporary concrete was laid in place due to the excavation area being outside the entrance of the property, area was left clean and tidy.
